For its new Fall-Winter 2024 collection, Bleu Blanc Rouge highlights French craftsmanship by unveiling its creations against the backdrop of a city emblematic of traditional know-how: Lyon. Known for its central role in the silk industry, Lyon is a true showcase of French elegance and the transmission of know-how that has endured for centuries. The city has marked history with innovations such as those of Claude Dangon, who perfected the large-pulled loom in 1606, and the founding of the "Grande Fabrique" under Louis XIV in 1667. Lyon remains today a symbol of textile excellence and the creation of quality fabrics.

It is therefore quite natural that Bleu Blanc Rouge has chosen to set up in four emblematic locations in the city, each reflecting this same passion for objects that tell a story and are designed with the greatest care.

Act 2 | In the bookstore L'œil de Cacodylate by Gwilherm Perthuis, 31, rue Auguste Comte – Lyon 2nd

At the crossroads of the literary and artistic worlds, the L'œil Cacodylate bookstore, located in the heart of Lyon's Presqu'île district, is much more than just a place to sell books. Formerly Librairie Descours, it has established itself as a reference for those passionate about all kinds of creation, offering a rich and varied collection of more than 22,000 works. This place, steeped in history, has evolved with the times and now offers much more than a simple reading experience. As a true cultural player, L'œil Cacodylate organizes nearly 80 events per year, bringing together the curious, amateurs, and scholars around literature and the arts.

The bookstore's name, inspired by a work by Francis Picabia, is already an invitation to travel, to the unusual, and to discover new perspectives. At first glance, with its bright orange storefront, it doesn't go unnoticed on Rue Auguste Comte. But what lies behind those doors is a whole universe dedicated to creation, art, photography, fashion, and many other themes of our time.

Its manager, Gwilherm Perthuis, opened its doors to us for the Bleu Blanc Rouge Fall-Winter 2024 photoshoot. Offering a unique setting, between the carefully arranged shelves and the visual works on display, the authentic atmosphere of this place brought a unique touch to the collection. In this place, every corner is a source of inspiration, a dive into rich and varied visual and textual universes. The bookstore notably highlights independent publishing houses, allowing visitors to discover rare gems, often unknown to the general public.

Trained in art history and literature, Gwilherm Perthuis has breathed new life into this space. His goal: to diversify the shelves to reach an even wider audience. Thus, in addition to sections devoted to fine arts and photography, the bookstore now offers books on film, music, dance, literary criticism, feminism, and the humanities. This bold gamble of blending creativity and intellectual reflection has been a resounding success, making this bookstore a dynamic and essential space in Lyon's cultural landscape.

If you're passing through Lyon, be sure to stop by this inspiring place. Whether you're an art lover, a book lover, or simply curious, this place will charm you. With its warm atmosphere and impressive book collection, L'œil Cacodylate is a true invitation to explore culture in all its forms.
