Sidgried, manager of the Aix-en-Provence boutique, opens the doors to her world and explains how she helps women find cuts that flatter them.

What does your role as store manager at INDIES involve?

Sidgried : “My main role is to welcome and assist each client in their search, offering them a pleasant and personalized experience. Shopping shouldn't be a hassle, but a true moment of pleasure and well-being. My goal is to understand their desires, habits, and lifestyle in order to offer them pieces that enhance their beauty, while respecting their personality and needs. Some clients know exactly what they want, while others prefer to let themselves be guided: in both cases, I am there to advise them kindly.”

Beyond providing style advice, I'm also responsible for maintaining the boutique. This means ensuring the collections are showcased, updating the window displays, and managing package inflows and inventory to create a harmonious and inspiring space. A well-organized and attractive boutique is essential for ensuring every customer feels comfortable the moment they walk through the door.

But what I'm most passionate about is this personalized support. Helping a woman rediscover herself, to gain confidence through clothing, is what makes this job so rewarding. At INDIES, we make it a point of honor to offer a warm and attentive experience, so that each person leaves with the piece that suits them perfectly.

How do you identify a customer's body shape to guide them towards the right pieces?

Sidgried : "There are several criteria to look at: size, proportions, curves... but also attitude! A successful outfit is one that matches the body shape as much as the energy and style of the person wearing it.

Some clients want to stick with what they know and love, and that's perfect. Others are ready to step out of their comfort zone and rediscover themselves through fashion. My role is to listen to their needs to guide them toward the right products, but also to dare to gently offer something different, to reveal a new side of themselves."

What do you think are the must-have INDIES in your wardrobe?

Sidgried : "There are three iconic pieces that I always recommend because they suit all body types and styles. The Lara dress: The INDIES icon! Do you have an anecdote that struck you in the store?

Sidgried : “One day, a customer came into the store feeling insecure. She was petite and slim, but completely hid her figure under layers of clothing, thinking it was the only way to feel comfortable. I gently guided her toward cuts that suited her body shape, showing her that she could enhance her figure without sacrificing comfort. When she saw herself in the mirror, a huge smile appeared on her face. She turned to me and said, ‘I think I look pretty.’ It was a powerful moment. It’s not just about the clothes; it’s about reconnecting with her femininity and self-confidence. She left with stars in her eyes and a whole new energy. These are the moments that make me love my job!”

Sidgried : "We express ourselves through our clothes; they reflect our personality. Feeling good about what you wear builds your self-confidence. So, dare to wear what you love... and INDIES is even better! (laughs)"
