Meeting with Lisa Chamoun Meeting with Lisa Chamoun

For its Fall-Winter 24 collection, the Bleu Blanc Rouge brand has chosen to celebrate expertise and craftsmanship by showcasing its wardrobes in Lyon, a city with a rich artisanal heritage. Lyon perfectly embodies timeless elegance and French sophistication. Known as the capital of silk, it is a historic city where expertise has been passed down for centuries. From 1606, with Claude Dangon, who perfected the craft on a large scale, until the creation of the "Grande Fabrique" under Louis XIV in 1667, Lyon has established itself as the heart of quality fabric manufacturing.

It is in this spirit that Bleu Blanc Rouge has decided to set up shop in 4 locations that share the same vision of expertise, this passion for objects that tell a story, that are created or chosen with care.

“When I create, I seek authenticity and the emotion of the moment; from this process, unique and singular pieces are born.”

Lisa Chamoun wasn't always a ceramist. Her journey with clay began almost by chance, when she lived in Saigon and discovered the beauty of local ceramics. A birthday gift—modeling classes—marked the beginning of a consuming passion. After starting out with a Japanese ceramist, Tomizawa, Lisa decided to follow her instincts and pursue further training. From Vietnam to France, via South Korea, she explored different techniques, from glaze to traditional lump work, learning to make each method her own.

In 2018, she opened her first workshop in Saigon, and her creative journey has continued to expand ever since. After 20 years in Vietnam, Lisa returned to France. It is in her Lyon workshop that she works with simplicity and spontaneity, far from the constraints of perfection. "Clay allows me to move forward with a quiet strength," she confides. Through her creations, she aims to bring a certain poetry, a gentleness that invites contemplation. Her modeling and kintsugi workshops are opportunities to share her love for this art with others.

Beyond her unique creations, Lisa Chamoun also passionately shares her expertise through modeling workshops in Lyon. Open to adults, these classes offer a unique and accessible approach to ceramics, without the need for a wheel. Lisa guides her students in learning various craft techniques such as pinching, coiling, slabbing, and kurinuki.
